Ralph Reid McMurtry, Jr. Ralph Reid McMurtry, Jr., was born on December 9, 1945 in Robertson County, and left this earth on January 10, 2016, at the age of 70. Reid graduated White House High School in 1963 and wore many hats during his years of employment as an electrician, sprinkler fitter with Union 669, and finally 27 years with GM- Corvette Bowling Green, KY. Reid is preceded in death by his parents, Ralph R. McMurtry, Sr. and Mary Dimple Hinkle McMurtry, and sister, Rollene McMurtry Carmack. He is survived by sister, Betty Jean McMurtry Whitaker; brother, Terry W. (Claudetta Stringer) McMurtry; sons, Ralph Reid McMurtry, III, Jerrold Reece McMurtry, and Brian Taylor McMurtry; grandchildren, Jerrold (Jerry) R. McMurtry, Jr. and Katilyn Gann; great-granddaughter, London R. Traughber; best friend, Carol Dunivant; several nieces and nephews. Our Hearts are broken and he will truly be missed. As per Reid's wishes, there will be no visitation or memorial service. I will miss my big sister. Obituary for Willa Dean Betts Willa Dean Camplin Betts, age 77, of Springfield passed away Sunday, December 13, 2015 at her home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 19, 2015 at 2pm in the chapel of the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield with Brother Douglas Goodfellow officiating. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery with Nathan Goodfellow, Chuck Newcomb, Dale Newcomb, Aaron Goodfellow, Zack Lopez, Ken Morrison, Timothy Goodfellow, Matthew Goodfellow and Christopher Betts serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday, December 18, 2015 from 6-8pm and again on Saturday from 1pm until the hour of service at 2pm. Mrs. Betts was born January 6, 1938 in White House, TN to the late Edgar Dean and Robbie Willa Stone Camplin. She was a housewife, was a member of the YMCA and was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents Mrs. Betts is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Carl Betts, her brother, Richard Miller and her granddaughter, April Hornbeck. Mrs. Betts is survived by her son, James Carl (Anita) Betts of Mason, MI; daughters, Connie Lou (Douglas) Goodfellow of Hammond, IN, Carla Dean (Joseph Viaches) Alexander of Greenbrier, Paula Sue (James) Morrison of Eaton Rapids, MI and Wendy Gale (Michael) Lopez of Rives Junction, MI; brothers, Bruce (Pam) Miller of Saucier, MS and Tommy Camplin of Detroit, MI; sisters, Linda Vollentine of Hedgesville, WV and Gloria Hebbe of Austin, TX; 20 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.
